Eli and Ami Jankowsky were both up so early that late summer morning that it was still dark out as they headed for Garden House to get ready for the day.It was very chilly out that early in the morning and they both hoped it would begin to warm up later as they day progressed.
It started getting light out as they began working on harvesting produce in the garden areas.It was still coolish out though it would get hot later on as they continued working until they finally quit at the end of the day and went to sell the produce at the store.
It got hotter as they worked through the day and they were already worried about not being ready for winter as it was almost the end of summer.Fall would be coming to Deery Meadows,Maine the next two days and it would be winter in another 15 days.They didn't have that long to prepare for the coming winter.
Ami had decided to wear a top with his shorts and to wear some light shoes as he headed for the market while Eli stayed at Garden House to work there for the day.They worked hard in the gardens for most of the day before they had to stop to get through using washrooms and get ready to start studying their writing skill which they both ended up doing online using the iPads.
They both had to study very hard after washroom breaks and they wanted to get enough skill in it before winter arrived and kept them inside most of the time.They were wanting to get their house finished enough to give them shelter before it started getting too cold to camp out overnight.
They were studying until about 7:30 that evening when they made sure to use toilets and to get back to their lot.They got a washroom partitioned and added a floor with a flat roof and siding before windows and doors got added.It was expected to get near to freezing overnight and they both knew they couldn't camp out in a tent if it was to get that cold overnight in late summer.
They got a few basics set up in the house and got chores done before it was time to get settled down to sleep on the floor of their house in sleeping bags.They were both grateful to have a house to sleep in even if they had to sleep on the floor in their sleeping bags.
